About K8 Hot Topics
The National Science Education Standards emphasize the need to relate science instruction to students' everyday experiences. K8 Science seeks to meet this need by helping teachers introduce newsworthy biology topics into their classrooms.
Periodically, K8 Science will produce and make available short topical summaries and annotated slides on "Hot Topics," areas of biology that are receiving national attention. These summaries and slides will be designed specifically for classroom use. We hope they will be of use to you, and we welcome your suggestions for future "Hot Topics."
